Clare & John. Selwyn College, Cambridge.
Clare & John met at Selwyn College as undergraduates so it was only fitting that they should return to Cambridge for their wedding. The picture of them on the college lawn (special dispensation to walk on the grass!!) taken just after the wedding has Clare's college room in the background. I love it when pictures become personal like this one!
Reception was a very fast dash across Cambridge to Longstowe Hall www.longstowehall.co.uk The grounds and Marquee were splendid and we just about managed to get all the family shots done before being called in for the Wedding Breakfast.

Carole & Tim get married in Bahrain
Carole saw one of my ads in Cosmopolitan Bride earlier this year and decided to fly me out to Bahrain to cover her wedding to Tim. SO NO PRESSURE THERE FOR ME!!! Flying to a new country to meet with people you have only ever chatted to breifly could be daunting but I was left in no doubt about the hospitality I would receive when Carole met me at the airport and whisked me off to a rooftop bar to meet Tim and her future in-laws.
The wedding took place after dark and the wedding pictures were all "night shots" Arabian Night shots in fact! Carole wanted pictures that were different and judging by her Facebook comment I think I achieved that. after seeing her pictures posted she wrote "Dennis, you are a legend!" Whether she was talking about my photography or my dancing I have yet to asertain!

Tania has been recommending me to her friends, as a wedding photographer, for many years. So when she rang and said that Leslie had ( after 10 years!) proposed, I was so glad that I was still free to cover THE wedding of 2009!
Stoke Park Club www.stokeparkclub.com was the venue, and despite the dire warnings from the Met Office of "downpours all day",- I never believe them anymore - the weather was kind to us and we managed to dodge the odd shower and get all the outside shots done.
Leslie arrived in style in a Rolls Royce convertable and, finally JB 007 turned up on my shoot! With Tania & Leslie's son Joshua in the driving seat, 007 was sure of a fast getaway. But "Oddjob" was reluctant to slice the head of any statues in the grounds.
Tania looked every bit the James Bond girl in her La Sposa designer wedding dress www.splasposa.com and Leslie's aunties from Ghana provided some wonderful colour and smiles to the occasion. We finally ended with a spectacular display of fireworks.

I like pink but Christie & Gavin like PINK!
I've known Gavin for several years. He is a professional golfer and has taught my son Hal at Winter Hill Golf Club. But when the phone rang at 3.00am, last year, while I was on holiday, "en famile", in Denver Colorado, Gavin had no idea that we knew each other. Christie had been looking for a wedding photographer and had given him my number to call.
Now a wedding photographers phone should never be "off". There is always someone calling to check availability, but at 3.00am in the morning, in a bathroom, in the Holiday Inn, Denver, I am not at my brightest!! So I chatted to Gavin for several minutes before it suddenly clicked that we knew each other. We made a date for an appointment upon my return and the result of that meeting (and booking) can be seen in the pictures above.
They choose Pinewood Studios for the reception www.pinewoodgroup.com which is such a great setting for weddings. I got to do my James Bond roofwalk to get the whole group shot, but 007 didn't catch up with me until the following day at Stoke Park Club!!

Chrissie wins the prize so far this year for the most adventurous Bridesmaids outfits. Cream dresses, with a black waist sash, complimented deep orange high heels, and topped off with royal blue and white bouquets with a blood red ribbon. So stylish & contemporary!
After the ceremony a complimentary Ice Cream Van was on site to offer all the guests (including me!) a "99". I ended up with a very sticky camera!! Then we departed to the reception venue Tattersalls, Newmarket. www.tattersalls.com This venue is steeped in history and since it was founded in 1766 has been the premier place to buy horses & livestock. During the afternoon we were serenaded by "The Ringtones" Barbershop Quartet and as dusk fell I was able to take Chrissie & Stuart out into the grounds to take some romantica pictures, in a magical setting. These images both complimented and contrasted with the reportage and candid photography during the day.
Also a big thank you to Tess Youngs, one of the wedding coordinators at Tattersalls. You were so helpful and did a marvellous professional job. www.tattersalls-events.com The Ringtones cshjohn@gmail.com

There were some wicked games with horrible forefits played on Tommy and his Bestman & Ushers by Yasmines Bridesmaids before they could even enter the Ceremony Room. All watched from a distance by Yasmine from the balcony of her room. The grounds at The Royal Berkshire Hotel www.ramadajarvis.co.uk/hotels/ascot.aspx are perfect this time of year and I made the most of a 15 minute photoshoot with Yasmine & Tommy to get some natural, informal pictures of them which I am sure will provide the basis of memories for many years to come.
